Air Duct Cleaning Process by Air Duct Brothers
- Attachment of Suction Hose: A 10” suction hose is connected to your system. If there are no access panels, they will be installed free of charge. The hose is connected to a gasoline-powered vacuum located outside the residence.
- Dirt Collection: The vacuum system collects all dirt outside in a large inflatable bag.
- Compressed Air Line: A compressed air line is run into the residence to push debris from individual registers towards the main ducts and out to the vacuum.
- Simultaneous High Pressure and Suction: The process involves ~200 PSI high-pressure air and strong suction (~6000 CFM) to ensure thorough cleaning without dust blowing into the home.
- Agitation of Main Ducts: A pneumatic rubber whip, resembling an octopus, agitates the interior of the main ducts to remove any remaining dust. This step is part of the “negative air pressure” or “push and pull” process.
- Timeframe: The process typically takes 1.5-2 hours per system but can vary based on the system’s condition and location.
- No Preparation Needed: Two technicians are always sent, and furniture will be moved and replaced as needed.
- Mold Inspection: Systems, especially those in the attic, are inspected for mold, with findings reported to the customer. Mold remediation pricing varies based on severity.
